In the morning of April 20, 2019, at the University of Water Resources, Hanoi, the closing ceremony of the 22nd National Physics Olympiad for students took place.

The competition was organized by the Vietnam Physics Association in collaboration with the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA), Ministry of Education and Training and Water Resources University.

Attending the ceremony were Dr. Phan Tung Mau, Vice President of VUSTA, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dai Hung, Chairman of Vietnam Physics Association, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Viet, Vice Rector of Water Resources University, Assoc. Prof Nguyen Van Khanh, Head of the Olympic Competition Organizing Committee, representatives of participating units and all students from the 2019 Physics Olympiad teams throughout the country.

The students achieved awards of the competition

The 22nd competition has attracted the participation of 42 universities and colleges with a total of 248 students in three parts including practice, exercises and tests. The Organizing Committee has selected and awarded total 115 awards consisting of 29 first prizes, 51 second prizes and 35 third prizes.

Till date, the National Physics Olympiad for students has been held 22 times, it becomes a helpful platform for teachers and students who teach and learn Physics, creates the passion with physics, one of the most basic and important science subjects. Besides, the competition has also motivated the movement of learning, encouraging, promoting and inspiring young physical talents, creating a prerequisite for students to love science and become future scientists, contributing to national construction and development.

At the ceremony, VUSTA awarded certificates of merit to 2 collectives and 8 individuals for their outstanding achievements. On behalf of leaders of VUSTA, Dr. Phan Tung Mau awarded the certificate of merit from the President of VUSTA to the National University of Ho Chi Minh City, which gained the special prize in this competition.

The 23rd Physics Olympiad Competition will be held at Vinh Long University of Technical Education in April 2020.
