Information Security Day held in HCM City

Information Security Day held in HCM City
The seventh Vietnam Information Security Day has been organised in Ho Chi Minh City under the theme “Information Security and National Sovereignty”.

The annual event was jointly organised by the municipal Department of Information Communications and the southern chapter of the Vietnam Information Security Association (VNISA) on November 19. This offered an opportunity for organisations and businesses to introduce their latest information security products and solutions to customers, as well as issues related to building human resources for information security.

It also provided a platform for State agencies and businesses to strengthen cooperation and share experiences in advanced security solutions.

This year’s event took place in the context of complex regional and global information security threats that put the operations of organisations and businesses as well as national sovereignty at risk.

The event included a report on the situation of information security in southern provinces, report on information security solutions by service providers, discussion on information security and strategic orientation for information security.

The Day previously opened with a competition entitled ‘Students and information security’, which drew the participation of students from 15 universities, academies and colleges throughout the country.

Cyber security has emerged as a key concern for government agencies, organisations and enterprises in Vietnam in recent years. Since the number of people using social networks and mobile devices is increasing, the Government should promote effective management approaches and implement state-of-the-art measures to meet the current demand.
