This is a creative design of Dang Thanh Binh, a 9th-grader of Long Thinh Secondary School (Long Dinh commune, Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province). This system allows automatic heating mechanism to keep the poultry warm, thus boosting their production as well as cutting electricity cost.

The system’s operating mechanism: First, turn off the CP to break the alternating current (AC) in order to protect the users when they adjust the transformer by hands. Then, shut down the circuit breaker at point 1 to alternate the current towards the transformer, generating the direct current (12V) into the thermal sensor. Finally, set the heating degrees by pressing the “Set”, “+” and “-” buttons on the thermal sensors (so that the breaker will be automatically turn on/off to open or shut the bulb for heating demand).

Heating temperature for poultry can be set at a fixed number or fixed range. For example, to set the temperature equal or below 25°C (P0), we input “25” and “-” so that when natural temperature exceeds 25°C, the thermal sensors will facilitate the circuit breaker, hence turning off the bulb.

To set the heating level at a fixed range (P1), say, equal/below 25°C or equal/above 32°C, we input “25”, “+” and “7”. Therefore, when outdoor temperature is equal/below 32°C, the bulb lights up, but if it exceeds 32°C, circuit breaker helps break the electricity, turning the bulb off.  

Apart from the above function, the model can also act as a lighting system when there is no heating demand. For this sole purpose, we turn off the CP and pull the circuit breaker back to point 2. At this point, the alternating current cannot enter the transformer, the thermal sensor is off (due to the lack of direct current) and the bulbs are turned on for mere lighting.   

The automatic heating system for poultry has won third-prize in the Tien Giang’s Creation Contests for Children and The Youth season 10 (2016) and been qualified for participating the National Creation Contest.
