The agreement was made by VUSTA Vice President Nghiem Vu Khai and Director of DAAD’s Hanoi Regional  Office Anke Stahl at a 9 May meeting in Hanoi, during which they said they will work together to create a bridge between organisations and scientists of the two countries.

Also at the meeting, Mr. Nghiem Vu Khai emphasised the role of VUSTA as a common house for intellectuals in science and technology both at home and abroad with 140 member associations and 400 affiliated science and technology organisations.

VUSTA has fulfilled a variety of scientific research projects, disseminated scientific and technological knowledge to people, thus greatly contributing to the country’s policy making, as well as science and socio-economic development programs in Vietnam.

Founded in 1925, DAAD supports exchange of students and researchers of German and other countries. In addition to providing short-term and long-term scholarships for Vietnamese young researchers to study in Germany, DAAD promotes science and technology cooperation between the two countries’ universities. Through its cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Training and Ministry of Science and Technology, DAAD has organised a number of cooperation programs on science research, as well as German courses in different universities and educational institutions in Vietnam.
