Currently, there are eight following occupations can freely move through mutual recognition agreements (MRAs - which allow for a worker’s skills, experience, and accreditations to be recognized across ASEAN, permitting them to work outside their home country): accounting, nursing, architecture, dentistry, medicine, engineering, transporting and tourism. This powerful factor has impact on the process of standardization and harmonization of standards, technical regulations and labor that helps ASEAN's businesses to increase opportunities to penetrate ASEAN and international markets as well as harmonizing a number of ASEAN's standards and technical regulations with international standards in line with the ASEAN Initiative Program on ASEAN Connectivity 2025.
