Prof. Dr.Sc. Dang Vu Minh delivered the opening speech

On August 23rd and 24th, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) in collaboration with the Tien Giang Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations held the national conference of local Unions of Science and Technology Associations.

Attending the conference were representatives of the Central Party Office, the Central Propaganda and Training Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Central Commission for Emulation and Reward, Prof. Dr.Sc. Dang Vu Minh - Secretary of the Party Committee of VUSTA, members of VUSTA’s Presidium, leaders of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee and representatives of 60 local Unions of Associations.

Dr. Le Van Huong - President of Tien Giang People's Committee welcomed the conference

On 23 August 2018, after the welcome speech of Dr. Le Van Huong - President of Tien Giang People's Committee; Dr. Pham Van Tan, Vice President cum Secretary General of VUSTA presented briefly the report on the activities of the VUSTA and the local Unions after the 2017 national conference in Hai Phong. In the discussion, delegates shared their experiences, specific activities of local unions, at the same time, recommended some contents related to organization, resources to ensure the regular activities of the local Unions. Dr. Pham Van Tan and Mr. Le Dang Tho - Director of Vifotec Fund answered questions and suggestions of the delegates related to the contest, the competition festival and the prize for creativity of Vietnam science and technology, the timeline of national conference, cluster meetings ...

Dr. Nguyen Van Khang - President of Tien Giang Union presented his speech at the conference

In the afternoon, there was the seminar "Some solutions for building and developing intellectuals in the new era". The delegates had many speeches, discussed the seminar topic and contributed many ideas to the project of organizational structure of the VUSTA.

On the 24th August 24, 2018, delegates attended the conference on enhancing the capacity of emulation and commendation work. Dr. Nguyen Khac Ha - Head of the Department of Emulation and Reward of Ministries and Central Departments (Central Emulation and Reward Board) presented the basic issues of emulation and commendation work and contents of the Decree 91/2017/ND-CP of the Government; Dr. Pham Van Tan presented a summary of some key contents of the regulation draft on emulation and commendation of VUSTA. In 2018, Unions of 63 provinces and cities are divided into 12 emulation groups (including 9 groups of 5 provinces and 3 groups of 6 provinces), the national associations are divided into 17 emulation groups. In the afternoon, delegates went to the field.

 To conclude the conference, Prof. Dr.Sc. Dang Vu Minh - Secretary of the Party Committee, President of VUSTA said that the national conference of local Unions of Science and Technology Associations of 2018 has completed three important contents, including: Report, evaluation, discussion on the activities of VUSTA and local Unions after the National Conference of 2017; Discussion and contribution to many contents to the project of organizational structure of VUSTA; implementation of the new contents of the emulation and commendation work under the Government's Decree No. 91/2017/ND-CP. Prof. Dr.Sc. Dang Vu Minh also thanked the leaders of the provincial Party Committee, the provincial People's Committee, the leaders and all cadres and civil servants of the Tien Giang Union who coordinated and created favorable conditions for VUSTA to organize successfully the national conference.
