Leader of VUSTA meeting with the Representative of Wiley

May 9 2017, Dr.Sc. Nghiem Vu Khai, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) hosted the Wiley Team led by Mr. Andrew Tein, Wiley VP Global Government Affairs at the VUSTA.

Founded in 1807, Wiley is one of the world’s largest publishers if scientific research and a provider of workflow solutions for the global research community and publishes over 1500 journals on behalf of more than 900 societies and associations that collectively serve millions of scientists, researchers and professionals globally. With the global headquarters are located in Hoboken, New Jersey with operations in the US, Europe, Asia, Africa, Canada, Brazil and Australia, Wiley is a global provider of content-enabled solutions that improve outcomes in research, education and professional practice. So far, Wiley has published the works of more than 450 Nobel laureates in all categories: Literature, Economics, Physiology or Medicine, Physics, Chemistry and Peace. 

Wiley is the co-sponsor for the APEC Science Prize for Innovation, Research, and Education (ASPIRE Prize) which recognize the young scientists who have demonstrated a commitment to excellence in scientific research and cooperation with scientists from other APEC member economies.

Mr. Andrew Tein shared the Wiley’s cooperation with the line agencies to elevate tertiary education, scientific research and innovation capacity at the sideline of the APEC 2nd Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM 2) and Related Meetings (May 7 – 18, 2017). At the talk, Mr. Tein requested the VUSTA’s consideration to join in the Wiley’s vocational training, scientific research capacity and knowledge dissemination capacity enhancements programs.   

Having appreciated the Wiley’s global mandate and reputations, Dr.Sc. Nghiem Vu Khai expressed the VUSTA’s willingness to connect the Wiley to the societies of about 2 million scientists, researchers and professionals in Vietnam in order to publish their scientific researches globally. Also, Dr.Sc. Nghiem Vu Khai suggested the two parties to undertake jointly coordinated researches, international fora and symposia as well as designing a concrete programs to enhance capacity of the VUSTA publishers and journals.

The VUSTA and Wiley shall conclude a cooperation agreement in researches and scientific research development in the time to come.
