Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) co-operates with Microsoft Viet Nam to organize an in-depth training on applying technology and cloud services for members and affiliated organizations of VUSTA, an activity in the chain of events “Technology for Good 2017”, following Microsoft’s global campaign called “Modern Non-profit”. The program aims at helping NPOs to do more with less by using technology and encourage technology-driven innovations.

Committing to build a global cloud system to serve the community, Microsoft has built a software donation program with long-term cloud services for non-government organizations (NGOs) and non-profit organizations around the world. With this donation, NGOs have free access to Microsoft tools such as Office 365, Dynamics CRM, Power BI and Azure, supporting organizations in communicating, working and sharing resources any where, any time, as well as building long-term relationships with sponsors and beneficiaries, therefore increasing work productivity and securing information.

The theme of Technology for Good 2017 aims to introduce to VUSTA member organizations the donation programs of Microsoft for NPOs, which help NPOs to get free access to Microsoft products and make use of them to enhance organizational productivity and expand social impacts.

Speaking at the opening of the training, Dr.Sc. Nghiem Vu Khai – Vice President of VUSTA, emphasized: VUSTA has a nation-wide network of 140 members at central and provincial level and 430 science and technology affiliated organizations, which is operated in voluntary, independent and non-profitable principles working in diversified fields of science researching, science popularizing, consulting, judgment, and developing communities. During the forth industrial revolution which is changing our way of working rapidly, Microsoft technology donations are both valuable and practical to VUSTA members. The products enhance productivity of internal organization work as well as support them to carry out ideas, programs and social projects.

Ms. Le Nhi – Microsoft Vietnam Philanthropies Manager

Ms. Le Nhi, Manager of Microsoft Vietnam Philanthropies program, said “Microsoft undertakes “No one left behind” in this world-changing technology revolution. One of the ideas to perform our commitment is Tech4good program – donating technology to non-profit organizations, especially organizations working with disadvantageous communities. Microsoft believes that when using Microsoft donation programs, Vietnamese organizations will work more effectively, contributing in life improvement of disadvantageous communities, as well as supporting the economy and social welfare of Vietnam. Microsoft is pleased to co-operate with VUSTA this year in this project. We believe with such wide and diversified network of VUSTA, Microsoft Vietnam will serve more organizations that need technology to support the community and society.”

After the training, VUSTA and Microsoft will organize a contest called “Tech4good to Foster Innovation”, encouraging organizations to come up with ideas to tackle social issues and/or leverage productivity of their own organization using technology introduced. The winners will be awarded at the Tech4Good Day, to be organized at the end of April.
