Vietnam bags three golds at Int’l Physics Olympiad

Vietnamese students have pocketed 3 gold and 2 silver medals at the International Physics Olympiad held in Kazakhstan.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the Vietnamese delegation ranks five, after China, Taiwan, Republic of Korea and Thailand and is among six countries achieving three gold medals.

This is the highest achievement ever of Vietnamese students at the International Physics Olympiads.

The three gold medals went to Cao Ngoc Thai from Pham Boi Chau gifted high school in central Nghe An province; Do Thi Bich Hue from the gifted high school under the Hanoi-based University of Natural Science (National University); and Vu Thanh Trung Nam, 11th grader from Hanoi – Amsterdam gifted high school.

Two silver medals were secured by Dao Phuong Khoi from the gifted high school under the Hanoi-based University of Natural Science; and Pham Nguyen Tuan Anh from the gifted high school under the HCM City-based National University.

This year’s competition was attended by 383 candidates from 84 countries and territories.
