“Flowers on the island” wins big prize

The idea of building a “flowers in the island” construction work has won the first prize in a creative contest in Ho Chi Minh City.

The work is aimed at improving the living conditions of people in rural and mountainous areas and islands, who are facing the shortage of running water. It is a tower in the islands for people to rest. It can also gather water from rains to provide people in the islands.

Also winning the first prizes are the idea of building a water treatment system for local people in Ta Mo Village in Moc Chau, Son la province and an “Environmental term” for primary pupils to raise their awareness of the need to save water.

The “water summer” contest is part of the project to save 1 billion cubic meters of water in 2014.

Also at the event, 3 outstanding individuals were granted “water ambassadors 2014” title for their contribution to saving water.
