The active role performed by regulatory authorities

The Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA), Dr.Sc. Nghiem Vu Khai discussed that, the participation of social-occupational organizations, Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) in environment protection is very important; thus in the upcoming period, it is necessary for the regulatory authorities to be more active, progressive to mobilize and attract the engagement of these organizations.

HANOI- Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations and relevant ministries have officially approved for the go ahead of the project ”Civil society meets renewable energy and energy efficiency“ (or E-Enhance). Funded by the European Union’s non-refundable ODA, the project is co-implemented by GreenID and UfU – Independent Institute for Environmental Issues of German in 4 years, starting from August 2017 to August 2021. The project has total funding of 685,326 euro, of which the EU committed to finance 600,000 euro.

Helping farmers adapt to climate change

Since it was founded (3/2006) so far, through the projects, the Centre for Sustainable Rural Development (SRD) has organized numerous activities to support poor people to help them adapt to the changing environmental conditions and sustainable livelihood management, especially adapt to climate change.

Prof. Dr. Tran Quy was born on September 2, 1939 in Duc Hoa commune, Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province. In 1975, he was sent to Romania by the Party and State to study PhD in the field of respiratory medicine. During his internship at Pediatrics, he was concerned about the high mortality rate of pneumonia in children. That is why he chose the topic of "Clinical picture, diagnosis and treatment of infantile pneumonia" in his thesis and that was highly appreciated by the Scientific Council.
